Where things stand: the entire site is now built and validated in code — homepage, password page, header, footer, PLP (Family Grid), PDP (Pairing Card), cart (Quiet Ledger), 404, FAQ, shipping & returns, contact, size guide, search, About film page, journal, trip-guide template, shop-the-trip, and a lookbook skeleton. Everything below is what only you two can do. Items marked BLOCKING gate something already built.
1 · This week ≈ 1 evening at the laptop
- Fix the Shopify CLI:
brew install node, thencd website && shopify theme dev— walk every page: home, /password, a collection, a product, cart drawer, /pages/about, /pages/faq, /pages/shipping, /pages/contact, /pages/size-guide, a bad URL (404).First real preview of everything; flag anything that looks off and I'll fix it. - Admin → Navigation: done —
main-menuis set to Shop · Sets · Journal · About, andfooter-shop,footer-company,footer-helpmenus are populated (size guide, shipping, FAQ, contact, about). The Row-split header and Ledger footer read from these menus. - Instagram URL: theme editor → password page section → paste the profile URL.The password page shows a quiet "Instagram" link only once set.
- Pick the email platform: done — Klaviyo is connected, the customer pipeline is flowing, and double opt-in is on.Still yours: build the 3-email welcome flow in the Klaviyo dashboard (welcome → world tease → launch-week first-access window).
- Charleston: in or out? done — Charleston is removed from the About page and the copy now reads "three little girls."Resolved; no unresolved copy facts remain on the site.
- Theme settings check (theme editor → Theme settings): cart type = drawer, "show cart note" = on, free-shipping bar = on with threshold
150, cart upsell collection =coordinating-sets.The Quiet Ledger's gift note, shipping sentence, and Complete-the-set row hang off these.
2 · Data — BLOCKING W2 · one evening with a tape measure
- Measure every sample, in inches AND cm — per adult piece: chest, waist, hip, length, sleeve per size; per Mini piece: the same plus the age band and height range it fits.BLOCKS the size guide (research priority #1: fit drives 53–77% of fashion returns). The page and in/cm toggle are already built — send me numbers in any format and I wire them in.
- A fit note per piece — one line each ("Runs generous; size down between sizes").Feeds PDPs + size guide.
- Model-fit line per PDP — e.g. "She's 4, 41in, wears the 4/5".Highest-trust sizing signal for parents buying sight-unseen.
3 · Shopify admin — products & merchandising W3 · ~half a day, I can drive if you give me access
- Create the 8 products — titles, prices, variants (sizes), fabric/care in the description.
- Create 3 metafield definitions (Settings → Custom data → Products):
·custom.coordinates_with— list of product references (the Pairing Card + cart nudge)
·custom.style_family— single line text, e.g. "The Sloan Vest" (groups the Family Grid)
·custom.fit— single line text: "Women" / "Men" / "The Mini" (card labels) Setcoordinates_withon BOTH sides of each pair (Women's ↔ Mini). The PLP falls back to a clean flat grid until these exist — nothing breaks. - Collections:
shop-all(all 8),coordinating-sets, plustrip-comoandtrip-sydney(tag productstrip:como/trip:sydneyand build automated collections on those tags).Shop-the-trip sections on the guides read these. - Videos → Shopify Files: upload
iv-hero-lake.mp4andiv-kids.mp4(they're inwebsite/assets/), then paste each CDN URL into the "Video URL" setting on: homepage film hero, homepage moment, About moment, password page.Assets-folder video works for dev; Files CDN is the right production path.
4 · Shoots W3–W4 · the long pole — full shot lists in the master asset list
- Confirm all 8 samples will be in hand by ~Jul 24.Sets whether the shoot holds; if not, the site launches on the graded trip photography already wired in (it all works today) and packshots swap in later.
- Studio day(s): ~20–24 scale-matched packshots on warm-ivory seamless (Women/Men/Mini, identical framing), 8–10 on-model hover frames, per-product details + packs-flat loop + flat-lay, gift-card face, one parent+child pair shot per style, 3–4 wide family interrupts.Once shot, I regrade with the house preset and swap them into PLP cards, PDP galleries, pairing cards, and interrupts.
- One founder portrait, environmental, on-trip feel (landscape + portrait crops). The About film page currently uses a graded family frame as interim art.
- Floatable: Lookbook Season 1 (12–20 parent+child looks). The lookbook page skeleton is built; it publishes whenever the shoot happens — pre-launch or September.
5 · Content — the world room W5–W6 · guides are drafted below, you edit
- Create the blog (handle
on-the-way) if it doesn't exist, then two posts from the drafts below — assign each thetrip-guidetemplate and set its trip collection in the theme editor. - Review the draft policy copy I shipped on FAQ + Shipping & Returns: free U.S. shipping over $150, 30-day returns, free first exchange, 2-day Detroit dispatch. Confirm or correct — these are recommendations, not decisions.
- Publish legal policies: done — all 4 policies are live (Settings → Policies). The footer legal row links whatever exists here.
Lake Como with three under five
Structure: arrival (ferry over driving — kids love the boat, you'll love the luggage math) → where we stayed (Bellagio, walkable, stroller-honest review of the cobblestones) → the days (gelato before noon on the waterfront; the stairway lanes early before crowds; the lido afternoon; one grand-hotel lunch where nobody melted down) → what we wore (the vests packed flat, everyone in one palette — link the trip collection) → the one thing we'd skip.
Photography: hero = the pergola walk; supports from the graded Como set (stairway, gelato trio, boat, balcony).
Sydney, the trip that started it
Structure: why Sydney with little kids works (beaches + ferries + coffee) → Watson's Bay morning (the ferry out, the calm beach, fish and chips) → Manly for the pines and the corso → the pool day → the origin story beat (this is the trip the brand was born on — one packed palette, the photo we actually printed) → what we wore (link trip collection).
Photography: hero = the Watson's Bay crew shot; supports from the graded Sydney set (tulle on the rocks, pines, poolside).
6 · Commerce config W7–W8 · with me, ~half a day
- Shipping rates: free ≥ $150 U.S., flat rate below; mark international "not yet."
- Taxes, Shopify Payments, and a real test order: done — MI sales tax collecting, tax ID on file, product tax categories set, test order verified end to end.
- Domain live on the store; favicon (wordmark on green — from the gift-card face art); default social/og image (suggest the graded Watson's Bay wide).
- Confirm gift packaging exists or doesn't — the cart's gift-note line is live either way.
7 · Launch day — Tuesday, September 1 ~1 hour
- Final sweep together the week prior (I run the QA pass; you spot-check on your phones).
- Turn off the storefront password (Settings → Preferences).
- Send the first-access email to the list — honor the 24–48h window promised in the welcome flow.
- Flip the Instagram bio link from the password page framing to the live store.
8 · Housekeeping whenever
- The 20GB
incoming-photos/folder: the graded picks are safely copied out. Say the word and I archive the originals list + clear it, or you move it to an external drive. - Post-launch backlog lives at the foot of the roadmap (accounts restyle, kids fit photography, licensed serif, facets past 24 SKUs, guides #3–6).
