Cloth Portico¶
Last verified: 2026-07-08 against business/STATE_OF_BUSINESS.html §4 (doc dated 2026-05-22) + ledger-claude/iverywhere_context.md.
Production manager for the vest + silks supply chain — the orchestration layer. They don't make the product; they run Olmetex (Italian fabric) and Romi South / Romi China / Wintex (sewing) as one coordinated pipeline. Joanna McQuaid is the relationship.
At a glance¶
| Category | Production management (orchestrates Fabric + Sewing for vests + silks) |
| Country | US — based in Naples, FL |
| Legal entity | Cloth Portico (confirm full entity name — LLC vs. Inc — with Joanna) |
| Status | Active. The primary production partner for vests + silks. |
| First worked with | 2024-04 (first sample deposit) |
| Owner (internal) | Haley |
| NDA on file? | TBD — confirm with Haley whether a written NDA exists; relationship has been email-and-trust to date |
Contacts¶
| Role | Name | Phone | Notes | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary | Joanna McQuaid | jm@clothportico.com | TBD | The entire relationship — sourcing, production, invoicing, problem-solving. Also handled the Jointop hat sample reimbursement (Zelle, Oct 2025) — scope extends beyond the vest pipeline. |
Scope¶
- Manages: vest + silks programs end-to-end — fabric sourcing (Olmetex, Como), sewing (Romi South LLC as US billing entity; production at Romi China + Wintex, Jiaxing, Zhejiang), shipping (fabric Italy → China for cut-and-sew; finished goods DDP back), one bundled invoice per program.
- Doesn't: manufacture — Olmetex makes the fabric, Romi/Wintex sews; Cloth Portico is project manager + commercial intermediary. No hats, sunglasses, mats, or trim — those programs run direct with their factories.
- Adjacent help: Joanna processed the Jointop hat sample reimbursement (Oct 2025, $330 via Zelle) as a favor — don't assume that becomes a pattern unless explicitly re-negotiated.
Commercial terms¶
- Lead time: ~15 months fabric PO → DDP delivery, per the vest run (Olmetex PI 61678 Nov 2024 → 342 vests delivered Feb 2026). May be faster now that the relationship is broken in.
- MOQ: TBD — never explicitly stated. First run 342 vests; silks run 200 pcs.
- Payment terms: mixed — Zelle (early sample deposits), wire (production deposits + balances), one Stripe invoice (Apr 2025). Initial master order (INV250004): 50% advance deposit, balance invoiced per-program at completion (per the ledger). Terms haven't been restated for new runs — confirm the canonical terms with Joanna before budgeting the next one.
- Wire routing: Cloth Portico (US-based, accepts USD wires); Stripe-receipt path as backup for smaller amounts. Confirm exact account info with Joanna before the next wire.
- Incoterms: DDP on finished goods to the Wyandotte address (duties + freight baked in). Confirm DDP is the standing arrangement, not just how the first vest run worked.
- Currency: USD
Relationship history¶
- 2024-04: first sample deposit — the deal that started the whole supply chain. Joanna sourced Olmetex for the AMEDEO fabric base and set up sewing through Romi South / Romi China / Wintex.
- Vests: ran 2024–2026 — 342 vests delivered DDP February 2026. Dated payment record (deposits, balances, Stripe/wire references) lives in the ledger — see Records & financials.
- Silks (scarves + eye masks, 200 pcs): deposit paid, in production, running late — "supposed to be done" as of May 2026; Haley chasing with "URGENT !!!!" follow-ups. Federico Bianchi (Romi South) is holding $2,000 of the deposit until ship-ready.
- Bags: paused April 2026 after an AMEDEO fabric shortage at the mill — killed as a launch SKU; revive decision is post-launch. $6,600 in bag deposits held at Romi pending resolution. Cloth Portico owns the relationship even though the held funds sit on Romi's books.
Open issues¶
- Bag-line pause resolution. The $6,600 held at Romi (from the April 2026 AMEDEO shortage pause) needs to be applied to a future run or reclaimed — the ledger lists this as an open thread. The next production run (kids vests) is already in motion as of May 2026. Action: Haley to ping Joanna and settle the deposit's fate now.
- NDA / written terms. Relationship has run on trust and email. Confirm whether a written agreement exists; if not, decide whether to formalize one now (silks balance still in motion, likely vest re-order ahead).
- Silks ship date. In production but LATE as of May 2026 — no committed date; Haley chasing with URGENT follow-ups. $2,000 silks deposit at Romi awaiting ship-ready state; Romi hasn't issued the final silks invoice yet. Action per STATE_OF_BUSINESS: Trevor/Haley to set a hard deadline with Federico (Joanna can apply pressure) — or accept scarves + eye masks as post-launch SKUs.
- Payment-terms standardization. The Zelle / wire / Stripe mix makes accrual messy — pick one channel as the default for the next program.
Records & financials¶
Full payment history, invoices, receipts, wire confirmations, and the master expense sheet live in the ledger (ledger-claude/) and Drive Administrative/ (under the contact@ / haley@ accounts) — the ledger is the single source of truth for amounts and documents; not duplicated here.
Email correspondence: contact@iverywhere.com (early thread), haley@iverywhere.com (production runs).
Internal notes¶
- Force multiplier, not just a vendor: without Joanna, Iverywhere would be managing Olmetex in Italian-language commercial terms and a Jiaxing sewing factory in a different time zone directly — work a pre-launch brand can't afford to do well. Treat the relationship accordingly.
- The Italian-fabric / Italian-managed-sewing story the Sloan Vest leans on in press is true because Joanna structures it that way. Name her in any heritage storytelling that goes into press, with permission.
- Don't conflate "Cloth Portico" with "Romi" or "Olmetex" in customer-facing copy — Cloth Portico is the management layer; the brand's actual provenance story is Olmetex (Como) and Romi (Italy-managed, China-executed). Joanna is the architect, not the front-of-house name.
